About the Business

Acko Drive, Acko Garage (via the ADSC franchise network) and Content together form Acko’s ecosystem play around the Auto D2C business – spanning organic/content-led acquisition, in-house and franchised vehicle servicing, and parts procurement. The business is being scaled aggressively, with a target of ~5x growth over the next 12–18 months, making this one of the highest-priority build-outs in D2C Business Finance.

This role becomes the dedicated Business Finance owner for this cluster, replacing the outgoing incumbent, and will operate with a high degree of independence – partnering directly with business heads, the CFO office, and, where relevant, the founder.

Role Summary

We are looking for a strategic yet hands-on person to own the P&L, financial frameworks, and growth agenda for Acko Drive, Acko Garage and Content. This is not a pure reporting or MIS role – the person must be able to get into the weeds of business and operational detail (garage unit economics, content ROI, vendor contracts, franchise commercials) while also operating at a strategic altitude with senior stakeholders. Given the scale-up ambition (~5x in 12–18 months), the ideal candidate has seen both a 0-to-1 build phase and a 1-to-100 scaling phase in a prior organisation, and is comfortable driving ambiguous, cross-functional problems to closure without heavy oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • P&L Ownership – Own the monthly P&L for Acko Drive (revenue, content/SEO-linked metrics, operating costs), including accurate cost allocation between Acko Drive and the insurance verticals.

  • Acko Garage Investment Framework – Build and maintain the financial model for new Acko Garage / ADSC investment decisions – capex requirement, revenue ramp-up, breakeven analysis, ROI, and investment guardrails. Track garage P&L actuals vs. plan.

  • ADSC Franchise Finance – Own the finance-side measurement, calibration, and P&L tracking of the ADSC vendor penalty/incentive framework; partner with the ADSC business head and procurement on cost accountability and audit findings.

  • Content Spend & ROI – Track content spend (SEO tools, editorial, creator/influencer costs) against AOP and measure ROI in terms of organic traffic uplift and lead-generation contribution.

  • Systems & Automation – Represent Finance in system build-outs affecting the vertical (e.g., garage management / AGIS-type platforms), ensuring finance reconciliation, cost allocation logic, and reporting needs are designed in from the start.

  • Business Partnering – Independently drive business reviews and financial discussions with business heads, coordinate with the CFO office, and represent the vertical in founder-level reviews when required.

  • Growth & Scale-up Support – Build the financial framework and business cases needed to support the ~5x scale-up plan over the next 12–18 months – new garage additions, channel investments, and unit economics at scale.

  • Cross-functional Coordination – Work closely with Operations (garage ops, utilisation/throughput tracking), Product and Content teams to close the loop between operational KPIs and financial outcomes, and drive process/dashboard integration where duplication exists.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • ~8 years of experience in Business Finance, FP&A, or Corporate Finance; CA or MBA (Finance) preferred.

  • Has operated in a startup or high-growth environment through both a 0-to-1 build phase and a 1-to-100 scaling phase – comfortable building processes from scratch as well as operating at scale.

  • Strong financial modelling and business case / ROI evaluation skills; able to translate operational detail into a P&L and investment decision.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage senior stakeholders – business heads, CFO office, and founder-level reviews – without needing to be walked through every step.

  • Hands-on orientation – willing and able to get into ground-level operational detail (vendor contracts, garage throughput, content spend line items) rather than operating only at a reporting layer.

  • Prior exposure to auto, insurance, or ecosystem/marketplace businesses is a plus, but not mandatory.

  • Strong bias for ownership and independent execution; comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-changing scale-up environment.
