About Insify
SME insurance is broken at every level. Getting covered means navigating a 100-page policy document written in legal language. Filing a claim means sending a PDF and waiting weeks for a human to manually process information that should take seconds. Running a business is hard enough without your insurance making it harder.
We're changing that.
Insify is a high-growth scale-up backed by €43M in total funding from world-class investors like Accel, Munich Re Ventures, and Formula 1 champion Nico Rosberg. In five years, we’ve expanded from the Netherlands into France and Germany, and we're just getting started. Our mission: become the European leader inAI-powered SME insurance.
We aren't just building a company; we're leading a revolution. Our culture is intense, high-stakes, and mission-driven. We hire smart, ambitious "owners" who possess a relentless drive to win. This is an environment for those who thrive on challenges, value intellectual honesty, and share our mindset of becoming a global category leader.
Our founding team consists of seasoned entrepreneurs who have previously built iconic businesses like HelloFresh, Bloomon, and SumUp. We bring that same bias for speed, scale, and high standards to one of the most structurally broken experiences in financial services. Together, we combine that deep fintech and e-commerce expertise with cutting-edge AI to stay ahead of the curve.
About the role:
We're looking for a Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join the Insurance Products team and own the products that SME customers actually depend on.
This is full-stack, customer-facing product engineering with real business stakes. You'll build and extend the insurance products that help a business owner get covered in minutes — liability, property damage, theft, inventory loss — and ship them into new markets as Insify expands across Europe. Every feature you build directly affects whether an entrepreneur feels protected or not.
You'll work closely with Insurance, Operations, and Product to translate complex coverage requirements into clean, extensible software. And you'll work on the GRID platform and other integrations that make launching a new product a configuration exercise rather than a rewrite.
What you'll be doing:
- Build and extend customer-facing insurance products covering the real-world risks SME owners face: liability, property damage, theft, inventory loss, and more as we expand
- Work on the GRID platform and other integrations to make new product launches a configuration exercise rather than an engineering project
- Own features across the full stack, from frontend flows to backend pricing, eligibility, and policy logic
- Ship products into new markets as Insify expands across Europe, handling the localisation, regulatory, and carrier requirements that come with each country
- Partner with Insurance and Operations to translate coverage requirements and carrier specs into working, testable software
- Set a high bar for correctness and auditability — the products you build affect real businesses at difficult moments
What you'll need:
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally with TypeScript, React, and Node.js
- Comfort across the full stack with an instinct for where to go deep versus where to move fast
- Experience shipping customer-facing products where end user experience actually mattered
- Ability to read a carrier spec or regulatory requirement and turn it into a system design without needing someone to translate it for you
- Ownership instinct. You treat the products you build as yours, not as tickets to close
- Curiosity about insurance as a domain — not because it's glamorous, but because fixing it is genuinely hard and genuinely matters
- Clear communicator. You can work with non-technical stakeholders and pull them in rather than waiting to be asked
- AI-native in your workflow. You actively use AI for coding, debugging, and tooling to move faster
Nice to have:
- Experience with insurance products, policy administration systems, or carrier integrations
- Familiarity with similar policy management platforms
- Background in regulated domains: fintech, insurtech, healthcare, or legal tech
- Experience building products that launched in multiple countries or jurisdictions
- Strong observability instincts (Sentry, Datadog) and a track record of operating production systems
We offer:
- Competitive compensation that reflects responsibility and impact. For mid-level engineer we have a range between 65-85k per year.
- True ownership and autonomy: you’ll have real ownership and room to make decisions Space to grow and shape your role as Insify evolves.
- A steep learning curve, with support from experienced teammates.
- The opportunity to share in what we’re building, with equity for eligible roles once there’s mutual conviction on fit and impact.
- A welcoming, central Amsterdam HQ where we work closely together: shared lunches, dogs in the office, whiteboards, and fun end-of-week drinks.
- An international, ambitious team that enjoys building meaningful things together.
