Munich Re Retakaful is Munich Re Group’s worldwide Retakaful operations business, focusing on providing Islamic Retakaful solutions to clients across Malaysia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

We are seeking an Underwriting Admin Assistant to support the Underwriting Department. You will report to the Lead Underwriting Specialist and work closely with associates across Munich Re entities.

This role is offered on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract.

Your Job

  • Perform end‑to‑end processing and accurate data entry for underwriting and claims referral cases for Munich Re Retakaful, Munich Re Singapore, and Munich Re Dubai.
  • Monitor and manage shared underwriting and claims mailboxes in a timely manner, ensuring enquiries, referrals, and supporting documents are handled in line with operational requirements and SLAs.
  • Conduct preliminary checks and verification of case information and supporting documentation prior to case creation, upload, and assignment.
  • Liaise with cedants to obtain missing information and clarify enquiries to support efficient case processing.
  • Download, organise, and classify underwriting and claims documentation received via shared mailboxes, including preparation of PDF files and accurate indexing for imaging and system upload.
  • Create and upload cases into underwriting and claims systems accurately and within required turnaround times to support smooth operational workflows.
  • Allocate and assign prepared cases to underwriters and claims assessors in accordance with designated case splits, workflow arrangements, and business requirements.
  • Provide rotational support for underwriting and claims activities across offices, including weekend coverage during month‑end when business needs arise.
  • Provide backup and operational support to administration team members during leave periods, peak workloads, or business continuity situations to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Prepare and distribute daily case reports to relevant offices, ensuring proper record management, timely follow‑ups, and effective coordination.

Your Profile

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills with clear verbal and written communication.
  • You must be based in Kuala Lumpur at the time of hire, able to commit to a 6‑month contract period, and legally authorised to work in Malaysia without employer‑provided visa sponsorship
