Munich Re Beijing Branch, part of Munich Re, the world’s largest reinsurer, is looking for an Life SoA intern to strengthen our consultative advisory services for primary insurers in the Greater China region.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong academic background in Actuarial Science, Statistics, and Mathematics to provide support for various external and internal projects. You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals who are experts in their field, gaining valuable insights and knowledge in data management and actuarial analysis expertise to review, cleanse, and validate Reinsurance Statements of Account. This hands-on experience will enable you to apply theoretical concepts to real-world problems, develop your technical skills, and enhance your understanding of the industry.

If you want to experience work within a leading global reinsurance group, an excellent office environment and an international setting then join our team as an Intern (minimum 5-6 months). While we expect the majority of work to be full-time and onsite with the team, we are open to provide some flexibility when it comes to core studies related inquiries.

YOUR ROLE

  • Utilize Excel and SQL to clean data and verify Reinsurance Statements of Account for China market;
  • Verify the correctness of reinsurance premiums payable, product risk coverage, claim amounts, and estimate profit commission;
  • Utilize VBA to integrate the standardized Reinsurance Statements of Account checking process into companies that are currently unstandardized;
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, and Mathematics or a related discipline, with a strong academic record;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a foundation in SQL;
  • Fast learner, open minded, able to challenge status quo;
  • Result oriented, able to work under pressure;
  • Good collaboration and problem-solving skills;
  • Fluency in spoken and written Chinese and English, with a minimum CET-6 certificate or equivalent (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS);
  • Available to work full-time (at least 4-5 days per week) for 5-6 months.
