Credit risks are the main underwriting focus in EULA5. In Direct Credit (EULA 5.2) business is mainly written with global banks by insuring credit risks originated by these banks. Thereby, the team assumes the role of a primary insurer. Your task as a Client Relation Risk Manager is to attract new and manage existing bank clients and proactively write business within your responsibility. You will take credit decisions in close collaboration with the responsible Risk Underwriter (RUW) and/or the responsible Portfolio Manager (PM).

Your tasks:

  • Expand our global business by binding new transactions with new and existing clients, thereby focussing on large, globally operating financial institutions.
  • Establish new and foster existing client relationships by identifying the relevant stakeholders and establishing personal and permanent relationship to them.
  • Negotiate and finalize the relevant insurance documentation with your clients.
  • Assess the inherent and relevant risks within the transactions offered by these banks, especially for Counterparty (Credit) Risk stemming from their derivatives business.
  • Evaluate the banks capabilities in originating and managing these risks.
  • Be an expert and function as a Centre of Competence for derivatives products and corresponding risks within the team of EULA 5.2.

Your profile:

  • University degree, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent training (banking traineeship followed by relevant further education).
  • Several years of professional experience in the Capital Markets division of a large, internationally operating bank; ideally in the field of derivatives, ideally Structured Credit, Solutions, or CDS.
  • Long standing professional experience in Relationship Management and/or Sales within the relevant fields of business.
  • Extensive professional experience in the signing of risk transfer products between banks and/or with insurance companies.
  • Exceptional knowledge of regulatory requirements for internationally operating banks, especially for CVA.
  • Superior analytical skills in conjunction with a pronounced risk awareness and sense of responsibility, along with a willingness and ability to justify decisions in a clear and comprehensible manner.
  • Team player, entrepreneurial spirit, and ability to work independently in a solution-oriented way.
  • Business-level English required; additional excellent foreign-language skills advantageous.
  • Confident manner, and high degree of social skills when interacting with people.
