The Product Analyst supports the AVP of Product Enablement by delivering analytical and operational expertise within Enablement initiatives. This role informs product strategy for rating via rating software. At higher levels, Product Analysts lead competitive and market intelligence efforts, helping guide pricing, coverage design, and product positioning to support profitability and growth. Supervisory oversite of external consultant may be necessary.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Pricing, Modeling & Product Development

  • Prepare rating engine for limited, full, complex, product reviews, including development of filings, rules, algorithms, and supporting exhibits
  • Partner with Predictive Modeling, Actuary, Operations and Product Mangement to determine support and selection for new pricing models
  • Apply actuarial concepts, business intent, and proposal materials to evaluate and recommend rating structures
  • Develop and maintain countrywide filing support templates for new models and product changes

Performance Analysis & Strategy Support

  • Prepare teamplates for analysis of product performance across rate, retention, and loss ratio metrics to identify improvement opportunities
  • Produce dashboards and reporting tools to support decision-making by the LOB Lead and Product Manager

Quality & Compliance

  • Manage and align rate structure changes across stakeholders prior to release
  • Conduct peer reviews to uphold analytical accuracy and documentation quality
  • Support audit functions, including data validation and compliance review activities
  • Follow PDLC processes and support continuous improvement in workflows and product operations

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong command of Excel (including macros), MS Office Suite applications, and computer systems.
  • Knowledge of data gathering and manipulation techniques and tools such as Python, SQL.
  • Strong analytical abilities including mathematics and statistical concepts.
  • Use Rating Tools for impact, rate structure, quality and market analysis.

Education, Certifications & Designations:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree - Business, Accounting, Finance or similar field

Preferred:

  • MBA or similar advanced degree, CPCU and/or FCAS
