Today, satellites cannot be refueled, which severely constrains their mobility and inhibits the development of economic activities in space.

Since our establishment in 2018, we have already achieved the successful launch of three tankers to space. As a Program Manager at Orbit Fab, you will be responsible and accountable for all cost, schedule, technical, and risk management activities associated with the programs' scope. You will be responsible for building and managing external supplier partnerships as well as collaborating cross functionally with internal business units for hardware and technical deliverables. A successful candidate has demonstrated experience interacting with U.S. Government agencies such as the Air Force, Space Force and/or NASA, managing supplier subcontracts, and leading a team in accordance with the program budget and schedule.


  • Plan, organize, direct, and control all activities of the program to satisfy requirements and meet financial commitments to the company.

  • Assist engineering team in drafting, modifying, and planning compliance activities with program requirements.

  • Work with both internal and external stakeholders to manage overall program schedule and budget.

  • Manage customer relationships.

  • Facilitate the risk management process with the engineering team.

  • Work withing the organization to define, secure, and organize resources, standards, processes, procedures, and tools essential for the successful completion of the program.

  • Provide support to business development activities as required.

  • Consult with leadership team to develop and implement current, annual and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for the program(s).

  • Act as a role model through personal excellence, integrity, and accountability throughout the business

  • Travel associated with supplier management and/or customer visits may be required.


  • 5y or more relevant experience managing technology hardware development efforts for space applications

  • Experience executing through all phases of a program life cycle (SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, PSR)

  • Demonstrated expertise and application of program management practices including: planning and budgeting, schedule development, change control, risk and opportunity management, and earned value reporting.

  • Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.

  • Able to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with emphasis in rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and financial acumen

  • Experience with Microsoft Project

  • Preferred: Experience managing mechatronics hardware programs

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000-160,000
