Title: Land Specialist
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Manager: Senior Land Counsel
$80k-$140k / year
Mission – Why we exist and why we need you
Geothermal energy is the most abundant renewable energy source in the world. There is 2,300 times more energy in geothermal heat in the ground than in oil, gas, coal, and methane combined. However, historically it’s been hard to find and expensive to develop. At Zanskar, we’re using better technology to find and develop new geothermal resources in order to make geothermal cheaper and vital contributor to a carbon-free electrical grid. The Land Team at Zanskar is responsible for (1) securing site control for all prospecting, exploration and development work, (2) acquiring, managing and maintaining all necessary permits and ensuring compliance, and (3) securing rights-of-way for development work.
Outcomes - Problems you’ll solve
We need a Land Specialist to participate in all aspects of securing site control for greenfield prospecting, exploration and development work. The Land Specialist is expected to work as an expert in negotiating with land managers and landowners to acquire access for field operations and exploration teams. They will collaborate with the Land, Exploration and Field Operations teams across the company and throughout the negotiation process to ensure the company pays market prices and the right lands are acquired on a timely basis. The Land Specialist will also help the company initiate good and mutually beneficial relationships with all our landowner and land manager partners. Success will be when you have secured access to certain prospects in a timely fashion, within budget and with all land and regulatory partners in agreement.
